The Patient Safety Privacy Protection Center (PSOPPC) provides technical assistance to listed Patient Safety Organizations (PSOs). For access to the PSOPPC Help Center, login with your PSOPPC website user ID and password and select Help Center to be redirected to a community where you can collaborate with PSOs on various topics and key Featured Topics surrounding Patient Safety. The Help Center search functionality helps users to find articles, posts, and comments. PSOs can submit support requests inside the PSOPPC Help Center at any time.
Outside of the hours of operation listed below, all inquiries submitted via email or voice message will be answered on the following business day.
In addition to technical assistance provided to PSOs by the PSOPPC, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) provides technical assistance to all interested parties regarding the Patient Safety Rule, PSO listing processes, listed PSOs, and other PSO operational issues. The AHRQ PSO Office can be reached at pso@ahrq.hhs.gov or at (866) 403-3697.

The PSOPPC website provides online assistance for forgotten passwords. Select the "Did you forget your password" link on the Sign In page and follow the step by step instructions to change the PSOPPC password.
If the PSO has been listed by AHRQ, appropriate PSO team members are eligible to obtain a User ID to sign in to the secure pages of the PSOPPC website. Account registration includes the user completing a registration form, obtaining the signature of the PSO Authorized Official, and submitting the form electronically via DocuSign.
With this new process, notarization of the form is no longer required. For a level 3 user request, additional verification will be performed using IDology during a separate scheduled meeting.
For more information, please reach out to the Support mailbox at support@psoppc.org or select Account Setup.

AHRQ coordinates the development of Common Formats for reporting patient safety data. This activity is authorized by the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act of 2005 (Patient Safety Act) and the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Final Rule (Patient Safety Rule). In collaboration with the Patient Safety Work Group (PSWG), AHRQ has developed Common Formats for four settings of care - hospitals, community pharmacies, nursing homes. The Common Formats for Diagnostic Safety have also been developed to standardize the collection of data about Diagnostic Safety Events across all healthcare settings and specialties.
To learn more about Common Formats, please visit AHRQ Common Formats.
The Patient Safety Organization Privacy Protection Center (PSOPPC) provides reporting solutions at the organizational level as well as at the data management level. These solutions create opportunities to develop and validate patient safety data submissions to the PSOPPC and to validate the PSO Profile information.
